I have found in the time I have been blogging that the community that exists is special in so many areas. It’s informative, fun, passionate, BUT the most important quality I have found in it is that is is supportive.
At times I have been asked:
- Isn’t it time consuming ?
- How can you ever know these people ?
- Aren’t you afraid you’ll meet a lot of kooks ?
And too many other questions to name. Non bloggers don’t get it. That’s okay. Because I do !! Many of you do too. In the last few months I have been shown so much support when I needed it. Some of that support has come about through your comments, or through your wonderfully insightful posts…and some from blogging awards. I think they are wonderful things. Admittedly I don’t follow the rules…being a PIRATE and all. But the feeling I get when someone takes the time to nominate my little blog is immense.
So while I may take time to answer some of them…please never feel that you don’t make my heart swell when you hand them out to me. The feeling I get is something like this…
So though long overdue…I should like to acknowledge the following awards you have given me, and I should like to thank the bloggers who thought of me.

I have been lucky !!! But I usually just pop them on the awards page these days with a thank you. The first few times I answered all the questions …so if people head there they can find out all about me. And I hate being the one to make others have to do the work…hence the NO RULES policy. People can take them or not…do the rules or not. It is up to them. For new bloggers it’s a good thing…and for older bloggers – well we get a bit lazy as we go on I think.

Arrgh Bless you Jo, Im juggling so much at the moment, with extra shifts and training courses this week…. Loved today though my only day off and working the weekend. But had my 2 yr old granddaughter for the day…. Boy oh boy is she in tune with everything… talking counting up to 20 knows her colours and recognises her ABCs…. my children were never that advanced and they both have good IQs… so who knows what my treasured Little Red Headed 2 yr old is going to be… LOL… makes Life so worth while..

From one kook to another (kooks are good and interesting I do believe), for myself what draws me back to the sites I visit besides the interesting and diverse content, is how the poster’s receive and interact with visitors. And you definitely respond in a positive respectful manner which is real to yourself as well in a way that welcomes those who visit. So it does not surprise me the accolades bestowed upon you.
I probably won’t snatch an award, but (and it is a big BUT), I feel privileged beyond words (as close to speechless as I get) to have a link to the blogsphere of Beyond Plum Creek grace your page here. Congratulations my friend. Just like you, I think we have the most supportive blogger friends out there. People ask my why I blog too. First, I love doing it. It’s my way to express my hopes, dreams and the things I go through. It’s one way to ventilate and feel not alone. Second, I learn important life lessons from others as well as find inspiration.
