When all else around me is chaotic, not going as I wish, one thing brings me comfort.
I know that in the most important task I was ever given – I did good.
These two amazing, beautiful, funny, caring individuals are my comfort, my solace, my joy, my pride.

They ALWAYS had gumboots – we used to have coloured ones/rainbow ones/patterned ones/dinosaur ones…maybe even a Barbie pair once. They were farm kids. Farm kids have gumboots. But they were always cute.

Hi Theresa – I think that is one reason why I love that photo so much – their innocence.

Wonderful Children Jo… they look so happy and absorbed in their play I just love to see kids at play and watch their reactions to new things.. I remember when my daughter just began to walk and we took her onto some grass for the first time.. She didnt like the feel of it on her bare legs and when she did walk she walked on tip-toes all the time.. And I remember too the first holiday at the sea-side on the sand…… Funny how photos bring back memories.. I love flicking through the old photo albums and saying remember when we did this or that?? Thanks for jogging a few of my own grey cells today Jo.. 🙂

Oh that is a long way away. At present both of mine are based about two hours drive from here. But The Daughter has plans to go to Europe – Dutch Dad gives her a European passport – so there is an open door for her. Pretty sure The Son will travel – he is in the Navy and it has ignited the drive for it. Thing is – I did the travel thing, and immigrated away from family, so I can’t say too much. And I want them to travel – to see this great big world we call home, find THEIR place in it. Just wish sometimes I could go with them…hehehehehehe
