Walking back to the car after The Daughter’s graduation I was thrilled to get a chance to take some city shots of Auckland for a change.

Wonderful, Jo. That first one – it looks like the road is a lake, it’s like glass, incredible. Thanks for hopping on board with the challenge!

VERY nice, both of ’em. And so different — like photos from two different photographers. Split personality, Jo? Or just very versatile? For me, I admire and respect the first one, and LOVE the second: amazing how emotional some of these responses are.

Thanks !!! Split personality is the way I’d go…
It is amazing that people respond with such an array of emotion.

It’s great you were able to capture the water in the first one while it was so glassy smooth.

Ahhh….actually that was a bit of digital editing. There wasn’t really any water to be seen.

Fledgling? I don’t think so! Th first photo is disorientating almost, the people look like acrobats and the cars like they are on a transporter. Is it a full on flood on bad drainage? nasty weather. the second one is also very clever and leaves me wondering what the building would look like without any reflections. Good work girl!

Awwwwwww…thanks Gilly, but I still have sooooooo much to learn. Sorry to disillusion you but there was no flooding…just digital editing to achieve that effect.
As for the 2nd one it is hard to say as the reflection was so pronounced when I took it I never really noticed the colour of the windows.

Love the reflections in both of them. I know it’s not “real” in the first one, but it really adds to the picture. The other one is sort of disorientating. Great!

Thank you – the second one is a bit disorientating…it felt like that looking up at it from the street.

Well, canoe beat me to the word I was gonna use: “surreal” – both pics have a “Dali-esque” feel to them. Nice manipulation! You are just getting better and better all the time.

Awwwwwwwww…thanks ! Actually the second one was hardly manipulated at all…the reflections were really marked when i took the photo…but i really had fun with the first one, and I love to play – as you know !!!
