Works of art come in many shapes and sizes. Back when I had the Thai students with me we went to a friend’s 70th birthday. There really is no other description for his birthday cake…

I was born in the land of Banjo Paterson, gum trees, and weather extremes. I am a freelance photographer. I love to make images that make people happy. To capture forever a precious moment. I am also a freelance writer/editor. I live in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, but still like to claim my Australian heritage. I graduated with a Bachelor of Communications in 2008. I am writing my first novel. I love to write poetry, short stories, and also write for the web. And there is nothing that is on a par with a sunny summer's day spent at Waihi Beach.

          2. Glad to hear it is warming up for you. It was chilly here this morning. A bit of a bummer as my fireplace is busted and won’t be fixed until the end of the week. I am hoping it stays reasonably mild until then.

    1. I used to love trying when the kiddywinkles were little, Almost miss it these days. It was fun to get back in to it for their 21st cakes.

    Love it, Jo! You put me in mind of Lisa’s wedding cake- no, not nautical at all, but definitely a work of art. Is there no end to your talents, woman? 🙂

    1. Hehehe…not so much decorating in my life these days. And there is no way I would attempt Alex’s cake. Mine are much simpler, but I did love doing it when the kids were growing up.

      1. I think it stems from playing today with my Granddaughter Age 3.. She is taken with the new cartoon film FROZEN… So I have been the Ice Queen today 🙂 xxx LOL

    1. Thanks. I was kind of proud of my efforts for the kids cakes. I miss doing them. Though if I remember the craziness every year then maybe not sooooo much.
