Travel Theme: Pale

Ailsa’s travel theme is pale this week…had to put my thinking cap on for this one. Firstly one more self-portrait.

Day 48 - 19.3.2013

And then there is this little guy I spotted when out fishing. He was like a pale ghost just under the surface of the of the water. This was the first time I had seen a stingray in the wild. It was such a wonderful moment as he glided off and slipped away in to the green.

    1. It was pretty darn amazing Gilly. My wish now is for an orca to pop up…though my fishing buddy isn’t keen. Says they eat you…bah…who cares…its an orca. Being eaten would be a small price to pay to see them in the wild, is what I reply.

  4. Sting Rays are really pale. The grey tone is enhanced with the water but they are indeed a good choice for the challenge. Great thinking outside of what most would. I love the portrait, too. It looks very mysterious.

      1. When we went to the Philippeans we saw a school of baby dolphins… it was such a treat and something I will never forget. Those unexpected moments are so special.
Yes the header is cool. I need to change mine too… been awhile since I changed mine.

  5. ā¤ the picture of the ray! You know, they migrate in the thousands…I think I did a blog on it once because it was so amazing (I'm jelly though that you got to see it in person!).

  6. I swam with these once…their skin reminding me of the texture of a human tongue…maybe a bit rougher, but barely…loved it. It was like touching something and not touching something at the same time. So..pale..is perfect. Thank you for bringing me to the sea today:)
