Small Stone #16 January 2013

in darkness the burglar roams

a definite target in mind

silently padding over the linoleum

searching the shelves

I imagine a pleased smirk

that my carelessness

and an open door

resulted in a treasure found

when I encounter the evidence

left perhaps intentionally

that I would know I’d been bested

pet treats

  1. Atticus does this at night. Steals food and my hair ties. I don’t think I know half of what he does each night and I’m sure I don’t want to know.

Charlie is beautiful but I expect you knew that:-)

    1. Yes he is isn’t he. He is a bit of a terror though. So far he has demolished my curtains. I am afraid to hang new ones just yet, and he loves opening all the cupboards in the house. I wake and find doors hanging open everywhere.

  3. We had a cat that could open the fridge and the pantry. The only answer was to put everything into airtight plastic containers. We would sometimes find the door open him curled up asleep on top of a box.

  4. Viewing by my phone Jo so the picture small. I take it that the culprit may have had 4legs? As I can’t see what the pkt contains. Clever detective work there D.I. JOE 🙂

      1. 🙂 They are growing like weeds and still rough and tumble with each other. Kismet still wants nothing to do with them, but the dogs have already accepted them into the pride/pack.
