Ailsa’s travel theme this week begged me to use some of the 400+ photos I took at last week’s Santa Parade. So here is how a few Katikati-ites got around our main street that day. In style is my opinion.
Yesterday I was surprised to find a photo I sent to a local news editor [hoping it would make it in to their website daily photo section] was put in the paper…with my name under it.
A first !!!!!! one that made me happy, happy, happy.
I was born in the land of Banjo Paterson, gum trees, and weather extremes.
I am a freelance photographer. I love to make images that make people happy. To capture forever a precious moment.
I am also a freelance writer/editor.
I live in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, but still like to claim my Australian heritage.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Communications in 2008.
I am writing my first novel.
I love to write poetry, short stories, and also write for the web.
And there is nothing that is on a par with a sunny summer's day spent at Waihi Beach.

The puppets or the puppeteers? Regardless, who cares. Let them be gay, if they’re gay; let them be straight, if they’re straight.
Thanks Gemma !! I know – how cool is that. I was at a friend’s house and she said something about it. I was like: “WWWWHHHAAAAATTTT ???????” I now have a huge pile of the paper on my coffee table. All ready to send to family and friends and put in my scrapbook. I am such a kid when it comes to these things. The Son was home Friday night…when I showed him he seemed really proud and it made my night.
I’ve just found your blog and was delighted to see all you photos of the Santa Parade. Looks as though everyone had a really good time. With this quality of photography I’m not in the least bit surprised that the local paper published a photo of yours. Well done. I’ve decided to follow you because you brought a smile to my face.
The horses are magnificent, as is the red car, Jo. I love your transportation pictures. And so did the editor: congratulations on the published photo!!! 😀
