Ailsa threw out the challenge RED this week in her Travel Theme with some stunning landscape shots of Utah.
There are lots more people answering the challenge than just me, so do go and see what they come up with.
UPDATE
Ever since doing this post I have NOT been able to get this song out of my head from Kiwi band Split Enz. I saw them perform so many times growing up in Sydney where they played at my local.
I was born in the land of Banjo Paterson, gum trees, and weather extremes.
I am a freelance photographer. I love to make images that make people happy. To capture forever a precious moment.
I am also a freelance writer/editor.
I live in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, but still like to claim my Australian heritage.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Communications in 2008.
I am writing my first novel.
I love to write poetry, short stories, and also write for the web.
And there is nothing that is on a par with a sunny summer's day spent at Waihi Beach.

Thanks Gemma !!! Put me in a car at night on the road and give me some street lights and a couple of others from cars or buildings and I am in a very happy space at the moment.
🙂
Thanks Sue !!! I took that one [the banner] yesterday when I did a walk for a photography challenge I want to take part in. You go for a walk and every 100 steps {yes I did count} you stop and find something to take a photo of. Chevvy was getting a little fed up with me stopping all the time, but it was amazing what you find when you stop and make yourself look in the immediate area.
Bitchin urban photographic representation of RED!! Thanks again for checking out mine. I especially love my picture of the stunning Snow Plants; this is not blowing my own horn, because it is the Snow Plants that are truly gorgeous and mesmerizing–I am just their humble servant, their messanger. I’m also always blown away when I see myself or another person next to a sequoia tree, as on my RED post. Their mighty majesty is just unfathomable!!
Thank you !!!
I had fun getting that one together. I am really enjoying dabbling in night photography at the moment. I haven’t done much of it in the past.
Awesome red Jo! I love your interpretation of this traveltheme.
It tickles ones fantasy. I can feel clearly what “red” stands for : passion, action energy… Great pic!
Well, I like the picture of the lights – it made me think of candles, for some reason. The band…er…not really my thing, but I’m glad you enjoyed getting to listen to them again. 🙂
Terrific red illumination, Jo!

Thanks !!! It was hard to decide what to use for the theme. So many great ideas but is it right or not is the question you always ask.
