I saw that over at Motley News. I loved them! π
It’s too horrible. All we can hope is that this man is voted out of office. America seems to be cracking in half: sane people and total nutcases. I am a Democrat. I love President Obama. I think he’s the best President we’ve had since FDR and thank God he was there when he was there. We need four more years of him in office and hopefully the Democratic Party will take over both Houses of Congress. Maybe then we can start creating jobs in America and cause a ripple effect on the rest of the world.
Some things can’t be helped. Global Warming, for instance. America really is the breadbasket of the world. If wheat and corn harvests are ruined in perpetuity, not only will America starve, but large portions of the world as well. It’s a scary time. I just can’t believe so many Americans are deluded by these two Boys from Brazil who want to run for the Executive Office of the United States. They are both spoiled rich kids who’ve never had to worry about a late gas bill, or how to budget groceries and medicine.
I’ll stop ranting now. You’ve stirred up a big can of worms with me on this one. I am a partisan Democrat. To me, the Republican Party personifies all that is wrong with the U.S.
I love stirring cans of worms. I must admit to being mesmerised by your political scene. It is so amazing to me that the “Boys from Brazil’ are even in the running. Your Republicans and the Tea Party quite frankly scare the shit out of me, but we have a few like them right here in little old N.Z. too. nutcases are everywhere these days.
BTW – feel free to rant on here anytime.

Thanks, Jo. I hope the the nutcases aren’t so close to taking over in your country. This election makes me sick to my stomach. I Romney wins, can you lend me a couch?
I am so sorry you missed it Madhu it was terrific. It is weird in that it seems to have vanished from EVERYWHERE on the net. Even news pages have the same message…my conspiracy theories are abounding.
Missed the video, but guessing from your previous posts that I would have enjoyed it and been in tune. Legitimate rape is an oxymoron, a shameful excuse for an act that has no excuse.
Well, I didn’t get to see the video, and I agree that it’s ‘strange’ that it’s been removed – my guess would be the threat of legal action, too. Like your pal Russell, I am a Democrat and am behind Obama 100%. I don’t agree with everything he has done, but he’s only one man, and considering the odds against him, the mess he inherited and the stacked deck of racism, cronyism, corporatism and a Republican Congress whose sole goal was to “make him a one term president” and who were hell bent on filibustering anything that didn’t help the rich elite, I think it’s downright remarkable that the country has made any progress at all. Like you, I think the Republican Party and Tea Party are scary to the nth degree…a fanatic is a lunatic is a fruitbat, any way you define it, regardless of party. It seems to me that it’s pretty much the Dems who are interested in living in the 21st century and making life better for everyone, not just the wealthy 2%. I honestly wish I lived in NZ, Jo. It’s hard being in America with so much blatant and undisguised hatred all around us day after day. π¦ Hopefully Russell is right.
I think that is what many forget. One man cannot change a land as big as America overnight especially with all the opposition he has faced. Is he perfect…oh no…but no-one ever will be. As an outsider though I watch America with both fascination and a little horror. For you rise above so well but get dragged down in muck and unnecessary mire with so many radicals. If the Republicans get in…like I said to Russell…there is always room here at the inn.

Nope…nothing. But it is weird. After going to all that trouble to make a statement like that why would you remove it ???

Well remember I haven’t seen the statement. Could they have been forced to remove it?

I guess that is possible…maybe under threat of legal action. Here are the lyrics:
***
‘Legitimate rape’ is great birth control.
So says Todd Akin, and he oughta know.
If we are raped we can rest unafraid,
‘Cause we canβt get pregnant if forcibly laid.
Our female bodies are clever that way,
We only get pregnant when we say ‘okay.’
Doctors have told him, so it must be so,
The stork only comes if we donβt say ‘No!’
Rape wonβt make babies and that is a fact;
Thereβs no global warming; the Earthβs really flat.
We heard it on FOX News so it must be true.
Well, Mr. Akin, we say ‘F*** YOU!’
