Here comes the rain again…

We’ve had weeks of rain and the world around me is damp and dark and wonderful.

I want to travel the streets in the face of the storms.

to dive in to the murky waters in search of monsters

to see beyond the reflections to the silence

search out the underwater forests where the naiads wait and plot

break open their barriers

cross the flooded plains

let the raindrops settle on my wings

weave amongst the grass citadels

spin webs to catch my prey

and loose the hounds upon the natatory paradise

as I stand on the wet earth and sink until submerged in to this hidden water world

***

Now this may be a stretch but Ailsa’s theme this week is Leading Lines.

When I posted this I saw lines in a few of these images.

Or is that just me ??

    1. I loved the reflections too Vivian. I was thrilled when I saw how they came out. I love standing in the rain – holding my face up to it…until I read a post somewhere that it is an couple of Native American Goddesses peeing that is…hehehe

  4. This is fabulous Jo! Now I have the song in my head too! It is funny to remember that our seasons are opposite. It has been gorgeous summer weather here lately.

  5. Lovely post and photos, Jo. Yes, there are plenty of lines here. I will certainly avoid the lines of the cell though. 🙂
I wish we can sing “Here Comes the Rain Again” here.

  6. The photos are terrific, especially the ones with reflections. Catching the bird in flight – awesome! The lines? Well, I enjoyed pondering on each line (the words) between the photos! Great post!

  7. It’s absolutely pouring down here too. I hope it clears up before my son and granddaughter arrive on Monday. Love your photos, especially the “reflections” one. Awesome.

  8. Jo,
What a great job you did combining the words with the photo. As was said above…it was a great journey. I really like the photos with the reflections…they were so clear I thought at first the photos were upside down!

  9. Really gorgeous, Jo, the photos and the poem you’ve spun around them. I love the “spin webs to catch my prey”. You’ve captured the moody, mysterious feel that rainy days bring perfectly. Hobbit land 🙂

  10. Fantastic pics, Jo! I really like that song, too. Been awhile since I heard it, so good to hear it again. The words were well-done, as always, though “weave amongst the grass citadels” is my favorite line here. And Chewwy looked like she was having a BLAST! As for the rain…

“Be still, sad heart, and cease repining; Behind the clouds the sun is shining; Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall, Some days must be dark and dreary.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow 😉

      1. CHEVVY, I meant CHEVVY, I swear! Lol! It’s because when I first found out her name I thought the 2 “V”s were a W! I PROMISE I won’t forget, now. I’m sorry, Chevvy! I’ll send YOU something with Jo’s B-Day present too, just to make up for it. 😉 OH and btw, tell Jack and Charlie that today is WORLD CAT DAY!

  11. You got me thinking there, Jo. Such beautiful images, with reflections and their shining light – I almost forgot how awful I would find that combination of cold and wet! Then I thought of walking with the dog, on the beach, and thought what a treat that would be – the beach is a different wonderland in winter … Oh yeah, lots of lines. Great post.

  12. Some of the photos have lines that lead me into them…others, to me, are interesting because they’re so still, water waiting with all the time in the world to dissolve everything solid in the image. (Especially # 4 and # 6 – that’s counting the picture following the video as # 1.) Anyway, I like!

    1. Thanks Ailsa !!! Technically I suppose she is not a leading line…though she was running in a line.
      🙂
And I just had to give her a shout out on here she looked so darn cute bolting about the sand.
      😉

  13. Glad to see, though not surprised, that I’m not the only one who thinks this is a brilliant post. There were definitely lines and connections, but most of my lines in Pirate bars, never seem to lead to connections. Hmmm, maybe I should talk about the weather. 😉
