Sunday Post: Silence

There is a place I go when I want to put or bring my spirit, my mind to silence, to stillness. This is THAT place. A place that moves me to silence.
 

Silence as defined in the dictionary.

Noun

absence of any sound or noise; stillness.
2.

the state or fact of being silent;  muteness.
3.

absence or omission of mention, comment, or expressed concern: the conspicuous silence of our newspapers on local graft.
4.

the state of being forgotten; oblivion: in the news again after years of silence.

concealment; secrecy.

to put or bring to silence; still.
7.

to put (doubts, fears, etc.) to rest; quiet.

    A lovely series…and some interesting definitions for silence too. I guess my interpretation of silence as “neglect” comes under the “state of being forgotten”.

  25. Thanks Jo! Silence is a place where words hinder our awareness, thoughts confuse the path and expectations create a wall we can not cross. Silence is an art, an art of being, not doing. seeing not looking, expecting nothing, thus gaining all that is offered. Your images show this beautifully and silently, thank you.

Silence is a wonderful place to be.. and the lake and within natures sounds is the best silence to visit… I always feel at One in Nature Jo.. as I listen to the silence of all the sounds we are surrounded by, that for some people they never hear them..
