Weekly Photo Challenge: Today

The challenge is…TODAY !!!

So out I went.

From 7.30 this morning until 11.30…the following came my way.

At the end of my street the sun awakes.
This neighbour’s garden always makes me think of ‘The Day of the Triffids’ for some reason !!
The frost melts.
The gorgeous redhead rifling through the boxes is my friend and cohort on this trip. That yellow car you see in the background is our worthy chariot !!!

The alpaca in the foreground had me wondering if it might be a statue it stayed so still while I took some shots.

There are more than just bargains to be found when you take the Garage Sale route !!!

Especially where I live.

Over at the Daily Post are lots of people’s TODAYS to look at.

    1. Me too ! I was leanng on the fence with the camera to take a photo of the barn, when I saw how beautiful the fence and the posts were in themselves.

    1. Do Tom. It is amazing what you see when you do. Photography has got me looking again…really looking at things I missed in the past because I was all about the destination. Photography has reminded me to enjoy and experience the journey !

    1. Glad you thought so !! Happy to follow where you lead…only not sure when I will be able to comment. Nine out of ten times I can’t seem to on Blogger…but it doesn’t mean I don’t stop in for a look see.

  1. Wonderful photos as usual Jo! Love that birdhouse(?) with the cat eyes (or is it a mailbox?) And the lichen on the post…wow!

    1. Thanks Sue !! It was a mailbox. New Zealanders have some of the most interesting mailboxes ever. I shot another one that was cool the same morning, and the day before while visiting a friend we went out for a walk and I almost peed my pants in hysterics when I saw a mailbox on that walk. I am just waiting for the chance to post a photo of it.
      😉

    1. It would be beautiful to cross that land on horseback. It was just great timing. Garage sales galore in the next town…so a friend and I went tiki touring. We overshot one sale (people you need bigger signs !!!!) and the drive took us right up in to the hills. She is great – always pointing out photo opportunities and waiting while I jump fences or slamming on the brakes when I yell: “STOP !!!!”

    1. Thank you. I love them too. It was great to out and about when the sun came up even if it was freezing…and I was walking up the street when I saw the frost melting on those little bushes. Loved them immediately and just prayed the shots would work. Here are another two I took.

Isn’t nature wonderful to observe !!!!

  3. No, no. Bert and Ernie are four year old brothers. Now I’m getting up at 4:30 tomorrow so I can get some early morning shots. I love your warm sun and cold frosty bushes. Of course . it’s summer here (almost) so I’ll probably get more green than red. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Thanks Jennifer. I think the lady walking her dog across the street was wondering what the hell I was doing down on the ground at that time in the morning…

  7. Hi Jo, I mentioned you in my Today post #2. I hope you didn’t take it the wrong way, or mind. I appreciate your comment and I agree… but I was on a mission! I am usually glass half full, but wanted to find something unique and wouldn’t stop until I got it, so I had to keep trying. I guess there is a lesson there too… never give up 😉 Thanks again for your comments and stoppping by CTB !

  8. My goodness! I can’t pick a favorite out of all the gems you posted here! I love the one with the frost (such rich color in that one), the mailbox with the wee kitty peeping out, and the one of the guy hammering his Sale sign with an axe just made me grin like crazy. You have such interesting characters where you live. 😀 Thanks for sharing such a wonderful variety of the things in your morning – you did all that before noon…wow, you are a dynamo indeed, Jo.

    1. I just love going around though some people are – well – out of their minds if you ask me. But most are fun and friendly and all those wonderful objects they lay out…and you get all the in between stuff as well. Perfect.
