What an interesting theme.

There are so many ways to interpret it.

And here are mine…

Maz – my friend’s dog…she is a sweetie.

  1. I like the first one because of the gorgeous dog. And I love the last one, because I think it really captures the essence of two subjects (foreground and background). I also like the way it juxtaposes an inanimate object (statue) with an animate one (the man in the background..if he had been reading the newspaper this would have been a unique capture). Also, it reminds me of some of the street photography of Eric Kim (I heard him speak on Thursday in Melbourne). Check out his blog here http://erickimphotography.com/blog/ and his photo stream here http://www.flickr.com/photos/ekizz/.

    1. I never actually saw the ant until I was cropping the photo…I was just taking photos of the flowers because they were so beautiful in my friend’s garden. Funny what you miss.

  4. I cast a vote your way AND I like the first pic with the dog and the hand. I don’t know why but it sort of moved me. Perhaps it’s the look of peaceful, calm on the pooch’s face or the fact that it seems like a quiet moment where nothing more than a gentle pat on the head would make his day!

  6. Wow, Jo. These are all splendid shots! My favorite, of course, is of Maz and her Mama’s hand. What a shweeet face that is. I just wanna smooch it. Also love that contrast between the ant and the flower. The bench scene is also a great one, but they are all special shots.

    1. Hi Doris – thank you. Maz does seem to have a few fans on here…not surprising though. The ant surprised me…which in itself is really cool.

  10. OK, I guess I’m a slow Pirate. 🙂 When you said the challenge was on two subjects, I kept looking for what the two subjects were going to be. I “finally” realized the challenge was ‘two subjects’. I obviously need more Pirate tea.Beautiful shots by the way, and I can say that sincerely, with or without tea. 😉
