Murals

This is one of our newest murals in Katikati…the rural town known as Muraltown New Zealand.

And here is what I like most about it…

I was born in the land of Banjo Paterson, gum trees, and weather extremes. I am a freelance writer. I live in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, but still like to claim my Australian heritage. I graduated with a Bachelor of Communications in 2008. I am writing my first novel. I love to write poetry, short stories, and also write for the web. And there is nothing that is on a par with a sunny summer's day spent at Waihi Beach.

  1. That is super cool. I’m sure the artist that painted this is proud of himself. He did a great job. I need to go up to Richmond one day and shoot off a few shots of some of their artsy stuff and share with you and others that post this sort of stuff. It seems only fair.

    1. Of course you weren’t Gilly…hehehe
It is just a wall as you walk through from the main street of town to another street that is starting to open up to business…and next to the local Art Centre that has recently opened up. What is also cool is he did it in panel. I have no understanding of how that works…making it all line up and fit together…

  2. Its funny…I often notice how in museums people are more likely to stop and stare at a painting if there are others doing the same. Maybe more will look at this mural because they sense the interest of the painted people:) What FUN!!! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Very good mural, Jo.
Have you seen the similar 3d paintings that an artist (don’t know his/her name at this time, sorry) creates on the ground? Like huge caverns with worlds beneath them, you have to get in the correct position to see the effect… I’m thinking it may be the same artist in your pictures now. I hope not, anyway, they’re good too! 😀

There are two things I know for certain. One: Bert and Ernie are gay. Two: I want to hear your opinion.
