I’m a spammer now apparently…

In the last 24 hours I have suddenly become a spammer it seems.

None of my comments on blogs are showing up.

They all go directly in to SPAM.

Even though I never had this problem before.

Please check your SPAM as it is likely anything I want to say will be in there !!!

You will need to approve me again when I make a comment.

Now I wonder what will happen next ????

UPDATE !!!!!

Someone suggested going to the forums and opening a new topic with the following: jobryantnz stuck in spam filter, and tag it ‘modlook’ to get the moderators to check it out and unspam me.

Did it.

That is what shows up on the forum page when I log in as me.

But when I log in under another name…(yes I have secret identity….hehehe) it doesn’t appear on the page anywhere.

So…I guess that means I am still persona non grata !!!

  2. Yep I found you in my spam…this has happened to some other bloggers who comment on my blog. I really don’t understand wordpress at times. Good luck figuring this one out and if you do let us know.

    1. I think this time is different for me…it has happened before…once or twice,…but never with EVERY blog I visit. I think I have been tagged as a spammer by WP this time. Like I said…I think they are fire truckin’ with me…

  3. I am new to blogging and wordpress and not computer savy. I don’t understand what is going on. How will I know if someone is spammed or if I am?

    1. To see if someone is spammed you will have to check your spam box. As for your own…well after you comment if it isn’t approved you won’t see it appear or even see the ‘your comment is awaiting approval’ come up.

    Write to http://akismet.com/contact/
    That is where your comments are being caught. In the search form, write something like my comments are going to other bloggers spam. And a form will come up for you to fill out.
    They fixed both mine and Chris in two days.

YOu were dug out of my Spam Box Jo, and dusted off, polished and made bright and sparkly and approved off by a Dreamwalker and put where I was delighted to see you on my page… Maybe someone pressed spam instead of approve.. But some weird things have been happening on WP.. Gremlins in the works.. Or maybe its ALL those spanners in the works.. (( I mean Spammers )) 😉 hehe… Love to you Jo.. and thank you for dropping in… Lets hope your next visit you can land in my Comment Box.. :-)… Love to you xxx

    1. Awww…I’m not dusty anymore and I sparkle. THANK YOU !!!
      As long as I don’t sparkle in the sun like those vampires…not that I would mind being a vampire if I didn’t have to suck blood. Couldn’t kill ANYTHING to save my life I couldn’t…so I guess I’d make a pretty poor blood sucker then.
      And The Boys would have to come along and chop off my head…like the wives of Henry VIII…so that would suck…
      But hey maybe I could get a job working for….

      1. 🙂 to say you dont like Blood Jo you got one pretty Good Imagination 🙂 … Ive never liked seeing blood even though I was a blood donar a few years ago and I had to look away even then..:-) You’d never guess Im a trained First Aider too but the training delt with plastic mock-ups lol, sooo hope I dont ever have to put that skill into practice.. Band aids and holding hands I can do… Hope you are all squeaky clean again now 🙂 xxx

        1. Very squeaky clean and lazing about in my Egyptian cotton towels as I write…hehehe
          I give blood and usually, almost always nearly pass out when doing so.
          All blood in my imagination is the fake kind as used by The Boys…like rubber knives, completely harmless.
          The Demented Fox Terrier however would make a perfectly GREAT vampire…when I am bleeding she smells it and comes running, tongue dangling
          in anticipation of a tasty treat.
          Did you know that dog saliva is supposedly good for healing cuts ?? Something anti-bacterial they possess.

I’m just a free spirited Pirate hoping to stay on WordPress (in case you’re listening), not the type to hang around with trouble makers and pot stirrers, even if they are a brilliant writer and photographer. 😉

Hehehe…Strangely enough, after my response to your understandable grievance, about how WordPress treats their bloggers, and another comment I made in response to a similar complaint by a ( Premium Site Owner) my editing page situation was either reverted back to the way it was before my compliant on the forums, or, it was intentionally screwed up again. As I am already using the :”SafeMode” to even make a post, I haven’t bothered to try and repair the font/format that is now all out of alignment again… Isn’t it comforting to know how stupid we apparently are perceived to be by those pulling our strings? I’m actually happy in this instance just assuming the “General Puppet” position… I find it comical. I don’t find YOUR frustration comical… just been through enough of it on my own site now to understand the juvenility of it…wow, I just made up a word…Like It?

    1. Awwwwww…in one post I’ve been dusted off, made to sparkle (denied by the cowardly Cap’n John – just wait til I get my hands on hiim) and now blessed…a truly wonderful time (except for the pesky pirate) I am having here.
      They are not very nice over in the staff section.
      Harry got me to get another blog and go in to the forums…which I did. But I made a bungle somewhere because now that SECRET IDENTITY (I was having fun pretending to be all James Bond) has been exposed. That personna now can’t comment in the forums. Well she can, but like me…SHE is the only one who can see her comments now.
      They sure waste a lot of time being petty in that office wherever they are.

I got one from you in spam but from the tone of that one, I think others you made when to Akismet land. Pip and Elizabeth both wrote to Akismet support and it got sorted pretty quickly, from what I understand.

      I have already written to Akismet…but not much has happened there yet…and WP is still not replying to my e-mails.

  18. I just went through the same kind of issue. Turns out with me and one issue though similar, maybe the result of something else. I use wordpress.org and I have to handle my own comment spammers. All was cool up until just after Christmas. Not being that quick on the up take on somethings, I realized after not receiving notice of post from other peoples blogs and not getting any comments, I clued in that something might be up. Turns out my mailserver blacklisted wordpress.com and also for reasons am not clear on, my server in addition marked my domain. There are also issues with the basic subscribe widget I found out. I to had another identity through wordpress.com so that I could post comments on a couple of sites who required that commentators be log in, Note I used ‘had’. I cancelled the other identity, as it seems it was mucking things up as well. Anyhoot all is fixed. Hope you solved your problems as well.

      1. Well this was a lot of **** and **** being muttered under my breath.

        I could be wrong but one thing to keep in mind is this anything including WordPress Comments and Subscribe widgets and add-ons read ip addresses not just email addresses or domain name addresses. If you get your Notifications via email, you might me in the same boat as I (misery loves company) so you might want to keep that in mind if the problem continues. And a call to your internet/mail server might be needed.

  19. Yep, you were in my spam filter! Sometimes it’s nothing to do with the URL of the blog that’s linked to the comment but the comment itself: your comment was very short, and often that’s enough to ‘confuse’ Akismet!

By the way, the forum tags should be one or at most two keywords (and it’s best to try and avoid the word ‘spam’ or else someone might think that’s been put there to alert the staff that a spammer’s just posted to the forum!). Forum tags help people search for topics related to their problem. People are unlikely to look for the phrase you used, so your post there was probably labelled spam and removed! (Who says you can’t post to the forums anymore, by the way?)

    1. The titles of the post show up…but they are closed to replies straight away…and when I try to post a comment to anyone else’s discussions the replies are not put up for anyone else to read…I can see them but no-one else can.

        1. Me too. I know it all sounds a bit ‘conspiracy theory’ – however, it is all too coincidental that this all happened now…at least to me. Especially all the stuff with the forums, and making it look like my comments were visible when they are not.
