The weekly photo challenge is WINDOWS.
This was taken in the mirror of a truck as Rob looked out the window.
A hotel in Moscow.
A graveyard.

I was born in the land of Banjo Paterson, gum trees, and weather extremes.
I am a freelance photographer. I love to make images that make people happy. To capture forever a precious moment.
I am also a freelance writer/editor.
I live in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, but still like to claim my Australian heritage.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Communications in 2008.
I am writing my first novel.
I love to write poetry, short stories, and also write for the web.
And there is nothing that is on a par with a sunny summer's day spent at Waihi Beach.

Love the one with sepiatones. I think the portraits when the “object” is busy doing something else then being photographed always give the best results.

Thank you. I agree that portaits are often better when the subject is busy – they seem much more natural. and I think they give a view as t who the person is.

Jo, funnily enough I know who Banjo Patterson is, he wrote Waltzing Matilda. It came up in conversation with a friend a couple of weeks ago. For me, I like them all but the first one stands out. Thank you for the Pingback by the way

Oh the wonderful Banjo – he is my favourite poet. I love reading his poems – and I love listening to them read out even more. The first photo is a favourite of mine – it really captures something of the friend who is in it – for me at least.

Who is that guy????? wow!
the goat looks three dimensional.

He is a friend. He also lives in NZ, and is a winemaker – I saw him a few weeks ago for a catch up.
I’ve linked to a post about him if you want to discover who he is…
A friend asked me last night if I had done anything to the photo of the goat because she thought that as well – and other than altering the contrast a small amount – no, but you’re right – he does look three dimensional.

None – yet! But when I looked back I still counted three, then realised I had thought the first was part of the header. Don’t know why. 🙂

Well done. I like the first one the most. Did you edit the photo? Or did you take it in B&W?
LikeLike
I did edit it to make it sepia toned. Glad you liked it – it is a favourite of mine, because I know the person in it.

Jo,
Really nice shots. All very nice but since I love to capture wildlife, I’ll have to “vote for the goat” (besides it rhymes)

I love your photos Jo, specially the graveyard one. There is something so ancient and peaceful feeling about old graveyards.
LikeLike
They sure are – graveyards fascinate me – I used to spend hours wandering one in Sydney – Waverly Cemetary
It sits atop a cliff overlooking the sea at Bronte and many famous Australians are buried there – it is a showcase for stone masonry – and a wonderful slice of Australian history.

Oh, I LOVE that third one! I would frame that and hang that one on a wall. They’re all good, but I just really like the sense of ‘age’ and kind of gothic feel to that one. It was the little purple flowers that sold me on it! 🙂
