I am a freelance photographer. I love to make images that make people happy. To capture forever a precious moment.
I am also a freelance writer/editor.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Communications in 2008.
I am writing my first novel.
I love to write poetry, short stories, and also write for the web.

They are in the middle (almost) of Round 9.
Each round works its way through the alphabet – hence this week’s letter J.

At the bottom of all the links to other sites there is a linky tool to add your contribution.
You write a post – pertinant to the weeks letter – post it – then add the URL to the linky tool , do a couple of clicks and there you go…
So have a go – each week starts on Wednesday.
I post every week – most do – but I guess you really don’t have to do it every week.
Hi Cat,
It probably is what you are thinking…
π
As the late and great Freddie Mercury once said : βDoes it mean this, does it mean that, thatβs all anybody wants to know. Iβd say what any decent poet would say if anyone dared ask him to analyse his work: if you see it, darling, then itβs there!β
I had to read it a few more times and then i read all the comments are we talking sex.
WE ARE TALKING SEX, omg, i’ll have to lay down in a dark room and calm my bad heart down π
I knew you’d get it eventually. π
It came to me watching my favourite sex scene in the world – on a staircase, beside the staircase, on a desk, beside the desk, falling off the desk, all over the place really – just how sex should be !!!!!!!!!!!!
I had already – something weird is going on.
I had people on Facebook asking me ‘why are you sending friends requests when we ARE friends already,’ and you are not the first to say THIS about subscriptions.
Must investigate.
DVD dear man – DVD. Not buggered it yet so far – but who knows what may happen in the future.
π
Dribbling Pensioner – Yes, anyone can join ABC Wednesday, unless you’re doing a commercial hard sell. This week, you can post with something that has a J theme until Monday. Next week, starting Tuesday, a K theme, etc. This is, as noted, the 9th time through the alphabet.
Jezebel. I wouldn’t have thought of her offhand, but since you thought of her, okay, I get it. I’ve always thought she did the dragging (enticing) because of a song by Frankie Laine which was popular when I was an impressionable child.
Well done.

Jezebel (9th century BC) was a princess, identified in the Hebrew Book of Kings as the daughter of Ethbaal, King of Tyre (Phoenicia) and the wife of Ahab, king of north Israel. According to genealogies given in Josephus and other classical sources, she was the great-aunt of Dido, Queen of Carthage – she is seen as a bit of a wanton. Which led me right to her when I was envisiging this poem and where it would go.
However, this really is my Jezebel …
I must ‘be’ a jezebel for I got it on the first line. Or is everyone pretending to be innocent here. Well except the lovable pensioner, who had no clue. π Such a dear.
Belt buckles.
I loved the line, ” bound her more tightly than course rope
and again I thought of the good leather of a well-made belt.
Usualy, I’m the one, who can’t figure out the poems meaning and search the comments for clues. ha!
I am LMAOROTF here.
π Belt buckles – you are so wicked.
The pensioner had some heart trouble – I feel bad about that – really I do. At least I think I do. π
It seems have done what all good poems do and sparked a discussion. I must admit I never hear the name Jezebel without the Frankie Lane song running through my head.
I had never heard it before – but I love that song now. You’re right – there has been some discussion going on as to what people thought it was about – I love that.

My aunt called her ex- husbands last girl friend Jezebel. The woman was 20 years younger then the new boy friend. ((old husband)) and two years older then his oldest daughter. Funny Jezebel left him and took all his money when he got to old for . . . well poems like this. π
Well I got it straight away Jo, you talk my language – thanks, it was brilliant! Poor DP, you do tease him! I love steamy stuff, I’m a very wicked woman! Do some more!!

Went searching for the song you mentioned. WOW – love it.
Jezebel Lyrics
Jezebel.
Jezebel.
If ever the devil was born,
Without a pair of horns
It was you,
Jezebel, it was you.
If ever an angel fell,
Jezebel,
It was you.
Jezebel, it was you.
If ever a pair of eyes,
Promised paradise.
Deceiving me, grieving me,
Leavin’ me blue.
Jezebel, it was you.
If ever the devil’s plan,
Was made to torment man,
It was you,
Jezebel, it was you.
‘Twould be better I had I never known,
A lover such as you.
Forsaking dreams and all,
For the siren call of your arms.
Like a demon, love possessed me,
You obsessed me constantly.
What evil star is mine,
That my fate’s design,
Should be Jezebel?
If ever a pair of eyes,
Promised paradise.
Deceiving me, grieving me,
Leavin’ me blue.
Jezebel, it was you.
If ever the devil’s plan,
Was made to torment man,
It was you,
Night an’ day, every way.
Oh, Jezebel, Jezebel, Jezebel.

I found this great one by Iron and Wine.
Jezebel lyrics by Iron and Wine
who’s seen jezebel?
she was born to be the woman i would know
and hold like the breeze
half as tight as both our eyes closed
who’s seen jezebel?
she went walking where the cedars line the road
her blouse on the ground
where the dogs were hungry, roaming
saying, “wait, we swear
we’ll love you more and holy
jezebel, it’s we, we that you are for
only”
who’s seen jezebel?
she was born to be the woman we could blame
make me a beast half as brave
i’d be the same
who’s seen jezebel?
she was gone before i ever got to say
“lay here my love
you’re the only shape i’ll pray to, jezebel”
who’s seen jezebel?
will the mountain last as long as i can wait
wait like the dawn
how it aches to meet the day
who’s seen jezebel?
she was certainly the spark for all i’ve done
the window was wide
she could see the dogs come running
saying, “wait, we swear
we’ll love you more and holy
jezebel, it’s we, we that you are for
only”
