Another update about me…

My 25 favourite movies of all time.

1. Dirty Dancing – It has it all. Patrick Swayze to start with. Great music, an unlikely romance, and crazy dancing. It is the one DVD I WON’T lend out in case I lose it !!!!!!!!!!

2. Morning of the Earth – if you haven’t seen this movie – or heard the soundtrack – you haven’t lived.

3. Big Wednesday – who cares if it bombed at the box office. I am a big Jan-Michael Vincent fan – also love ‘the Mechanic’ and ‘White Line Fever’ – but it is a cult classic.

4. Robin Hood – the Kevin Costner version. It has so many dark, funny moments in it. Morgan Freeman and Alan Rickman are so good. And Kevin looks great!!!!

5. The Postman – I never get tired of this movie. It is clever, beautifully filmed, and a damned good story.

6. Revenge – best of all the Costner movies !!!!!

7. Almost Famous – based on some of Cameron Crowe’s experiences and the music is amazing.

8. Badlands – Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek are so good in this haunting story.

9. Point Break – 4 words – Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves.

10. Interview With The Vampire – they really did justice to Anne Rice’s phenomenal book.

11. Into The Wild – A true story, directed by Sean Penn with Emile Hirsch as Christopher McCandless. The photography is incredible. The story is great and the acting is so good. WATCH IT !!!!!!

12. Blood Diamond – be prepared to be horrified and sad.

13. A Star Is Born – The Streisand/Kristofferson version.

14. The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It NEVER gets old.

15. Sweet Home Alabama – Josh Lucas has the BLUEST eyes. My daughter and I love watching this.

16. Love Actually – A great Christmas movie. Best wedding scene ever.

17. Second hand Lions – PLEASE, PLEASE watch this movie !!!!!!!!!!!

18. Ever After – I love Dougray Scott. Cinderella at its best.

19. Wimbledon – Paul Bettany – enough said.

20. Gone In 60 Seconds – Nicolas Cage and Anjelina Jolie – fast cars – bad guys – police chases – need I go on?

21. Mamma Mia – I sing my heart out EVERY time I watch it

22. Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. It is worth it just to watch Hugh do his little dance thingee – but lots of laughter.

23. The Motorcycle Dairies – Che Guevera is soooo interesting.

24. The Fighter – Mark Walberg and Christian Bale at their best. True Story.

25. Chocolat – Johnny Depp is gorgeous – but there is a haunting, poignant quality to this movie. I never get tired of it

So there you have it.

If you haven’t seen these movies, well I pity the fool !!!!!!!!!

  1. Oh no!!! I can’t stand Patrick Swayze & the only one of those films that might get near my top 25 is the Rocky Horror Picture Show. A lot of them would be on my Least Favourite Films Bottom 25 list!!!

We must remember not to talk movies, EVER!!!

  2. We all thought Bert and Ernie but it turns out Elmo was…
I must confess that I more agree with Barbara as to this list (but if you are a Swayze fan – where is Roadhouse?) Rocky, Badlands, Che, Love Actually, Almost Famous – all good but not top 25…I skew towards older films for the most part. Fun read though.

    1. Ummmmmmmm…there is NO Rocky on this list !!!
      😉
I like Roadhouse but it isn’t a list ALL about Swayze. I love Badlands – I think Martin Sheen just rock and rolls in it, and Sweet Hostage.
And see it is my list…which means everyone else will have other favourites…and that’s what make life soooooooooooo interesting. i might have to do a 25 ‘older’ films list one day.

  3. Haven’t watched movies in years … sick and tired of the s… and f… words that can be heard 1 or 2 minutes into a movie. I can easily see myself being a bag lady eating out of restaurant and grocery garbage cans, but refuse to eat verbal garbage.
