99 Problems

The closer we get to the end of the season the more depressing these episodes are getting.

What I find hardest to watch is Dean.

Tough, never give an inch (yes I know that is a cliché phrase – but it suits, all right), always fighting Dean has given up.

And it is painful to watch.

The roles are reversed, and I am not sure I like it.

It has been building up to this since the end of last season. Sam growing up and going his own way has taken the guts out of Dean.

This was not something I could have imagined in the beginning. Hard as it is to watch, I find it not only clever, but a daring move from the writers.

Thank God for Cas.

Oh – that is kind of funny.

Hearing Castiel’s voice mail message – priceless. Where do the writers get this stuff?

If you’re not watching this programme by now – well, what the hell is wrong with you?

Seeing Cas drunk. Oh boy.

I have to quote here, I have to…

Sam: What the hell happened to you?
Cas: I found a liquor store.
Sam: And?
Cas: I drank it.

For the most of this episode I felt sad. Last week, when Dean realised how little of their life together was Sam’s idea of Heaven, set the scene for Dean to walk away from Sam.

After five years of watching their relationship, I hate it when they are at odds with each other – even though I know it makes sense for the storyline, and dramatically is great.

With the Whore of Babylon in town and doing her evil best to kill as many townspeople as she can while damning the rest to hell, it is surprising that Dean actually is the one who kills her.

Why?

Because only a true servant of God should be able to do that.

Sam wasn’t the only one suspicious at that.

Although a part of me loves the vulnerable side of Dean, it’s hard to watch.

So Dean went to find Lisa – and say goodbye. I’d always hoped for more of her and Ben (or mini Dean as I like to think of him).

It’s not hard to know where he is headed – to say YES to Michael.

I am really glad that I know there IS a season 6. Otherwise I might be convinced this was the end of the road for one, if not both of the Winchester boys.

And the Impala – so not ready to end that relationship yet.

In case you are curious –yes, I ended this episode in tears.
