Ailsa threw out the challenge RED this week in her Travel Theme with some stunning landscape shots of Utah.
There are lots more people answering the challenge than just me, so do go and see what they come up with.
UPDATE
Ever since doing this post I have NOT been able to get this song out of my head from Kiwi band Split Enz. I saw them perform so many times growing up in Sydney where they played at my local.

Terrific red illumination, Jo!
Thank you Tahira. I am reall loving night photography and playing around with colours and lights at the moment.
Looks like it’s on fi-ah!!!
. Neat!
Thanks Gemma !!! Put me in a car at night on the road and give me some street lights and a couple of others from cars or buildings and I am in a very happy space at the moment.
Whatever works
This is great for the theme, Jo.
Thanks !!! It was hard to decide what to use for the theme. So many great ideas but is it right or not is the question you always ask.
Your entry is good, as usual Jo, I’m actually loving the red flowers on your banner.
Thanks Sue !!! I took that one [the banner] yesterday when I did a walk for a photography challenge I want to take part in. You go for a walk and every 100 steps {yes I did count} you stop and find something to take a photo of. Chevvy was getting a little fed up with me stopping all the time, but it was amazing what you find when you stop and make yourself look in the immediate area.
I want to sing a red version of Coldplay’s Yellow… and it’s all REEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDD… beautiful, indeed!
Thank you. Ever since I found this theme I keep singing a Split Enz song: I See Red. I think I might add it to the post.
splendid idea! get to work eh
Done !!!! Now THAT song is really going to influence my day.
Stunning red colour @Jo
Thanks. It was fun to take and play around with a little.
Now, those are RED lights!
Aren’t they just. I love ‘em !!!!!!!!!
Bitchin urban photographic representation of RED!! Thanks again for checking out mine. I especially love my picture of the stunning Snow Plants; this is not blowing my own horn, because it is the Snow Plants that are truly gorgeous and mesmerizing–I am just their humble servant, their messanger. I’m also always blown away when I see myself or another person next to a sequoia tree, as on my RED post. Their mighty majesty is just unfathomable!!

Thank you !!!!
You should blow your own horn…most of the time no-one else will.
Ha! Nice =)
Wow, Jo, that’s an absolutely spectacular red image! Well done!
Thank you !!!
I had fun getting that one together. I am really enjoying dabbling in night photography at the moment. I haven’t done much of it in the past.
Well, keep going!
Oh wow, what a splash of red indeed! Like a paintbrush gone wild.
Oh I like that description a lot Myra.
I like it! and the front man in the band is hilarious, like a frantic robot!
Thanks Gilly. He is a bit like that. I loved that band and was heartbroken when they stopped performing together.
Lovely night shot! And rather ‘frenzied’ band
Thanks Madhu. They were exactly that on stage – frenzied – but oh so good.
Awesome red Jo! I love your interpretation of this traveltheme.
It tickles ones fantasy. I can feel clearly what “red” stands for : passion, action energy… Great pic!
Thanks DED. I love that you see it that way.
Loving the “Red” … when you stare at the photo when enlarged, you feel like you’re in a disco
with lights swirling all around you. Outstanding …..
Oh it does. Wow…I missed that before.
Jo, This is “bloody” wicked! Bwahahahaha.
I love it when you approve !!!!!!!!!!1
OOHH what a fantastic interpretation of Ailsa´s RED theme, Jo! Very well captured.
Thanks Marianne,
I love that you think so.
Well, I like the picture of the lights – it made me think of candles, for some reason. The band…er…not really my thing, but I’m glad you enjoyed getting to listen to them again.
Glad you liked the picture. As to Split Enz…well they were different.
Great shot Jo!
Thanks TBM…I love that you think so.
