Great shot …. I like the fact that this is a black and white image, and you captured those little ‘harsh’ waves. I feel like theres a story behind that picture… shallow, deep, mysterious story. Good job!
Hi Angelia – love that you find it so intriguing. HDR processing – truthfully I am not sure I even quite understand HDR even though I have read a few tutorials – sounds extremely complicated. No – it was just a photo I took today as I headed out on a morning’s fishing trip…the place is so beatuiful the photo kind of took itself.
Between the breathtaking sky and the wonder of waters below are magic and memories so beautiful it makes our hearts smile.
Merry Christmas…..
Happy New Year. May blessings of love , joy and peace be with you and your family for always…
It looks a bit chilly for a Skinny Dip Jo so I hope
that you were just taking the pictures and not braving
the sea on that day my wickedly fine friend?
Have a lovely rest of holidays
and a very wicked start to 2012
I love photography. I also love to write. So that’s two things we have in common. Thanks for taking a look at my work. It really means a lot to me. I look forward to getting to know you better via your blog. I really like this photograph. It mirrors my own mood right now; that is, I am entering a period of reflection. The endless water in your photograph, with the poles hidden under the waves reminds me that there are things I probably need to focus on, but it’s hard to be objective about oneself. Best wishes to you, Russell
I love your work Russell – it speaks !!! I seem to have been in a period of reflection for the longest time…maybe I need to step out of it eventually and just be…
Sometimes the hardest part in capturing beauty is to first recognize it. Great job at recognizing beauty and then capturing it so well! Happy Holidays Jo!
Capturing the darkness…and intimidating…side of nature is as beautiful as its lighter, effervescent, more pleasing presentation. Not all of us think to snap a photo of such grayness…glad you thought to do so…it makes one think.
Thanks for your good wishes and yes, all is going very well – even been to the pub today for lunch. Luckily I received a Kindle for Christmas off my son which has meant I was finally able to download The Gaia Wars – sure Ken will be pleased to know that. How was your Christmas (not that it’s over yet..)? Perhaps tell us all in a blog.
Lucky girl – though I will not complain. Got me a set of Egyptian cotton towels with a threadcount in the thousands – I may NEVER get dressed again…hehe (scary thought) !!!! And an external hardrive was another great gift – now I can save all those photos at least.
Great Entry for this week Theme Jo Glad your Okey then
Happy Holidays
Thanks Jake – sorry I didn’t see your other comment – haven’t been near the computer for a couple of days – all is fine here !!!

Thank you for that comment – there actually is a story behind this one – one I’m probably not going to share…
Beautiful photo Jo…Hope you’ve had a good holiday.
Thank you Angeline – and for the holiday wishes as well. Hope yours are wonderful.
The photo is very intriguing. It definitely pulls me in. Is there some HDR processing? It has such rich detail. Very nice job! And happy holidays!

It is beautiful Jo, did you land any fish? I’m intrigued by the story you’re probably not going to tell!!! Go on you know you want to!
Thanks Gilly – no, no fish. It was more about being out there. As for the story – maybe one day. When it doesn’t hurt quite so much…
Lovely photo!
Thanks for that !!!
Great photo!
So glad you think so – I am partial to this one myself.
Nice picture. Like it a lot!!

It reminds me of the stillness of the night, which as a Night Owl, I am attracted to it. Great photo.
Thank you Jackie for that lovely comment – I am so happy you like it.
Stunning, I love it!
Thank you !!!
Jo, I LOVE this! Wonderful, wonderful! Hope you’ve had a great holiday so far…. Happy New year, too.

It looks very idyllic there Jo, being able to fish your food too. Lovely!
It is idyllic – but I would have gone hungry that night had I been relying on my fishing abilities…hehe

How would you even get “between” these posts in a boat? Very tricky.
It is actually quite easily done. Not at all tricky.
very nice!
